What is Quinoa?

Quinoa is a flowering plant belonging to the amaranth family. It is a grain crop grown for its edible seeds and is botanically related to spinach and amaranth. Quinoa originated in the Andean region of the northwestern part of South America and is now also cultivated in the regions of India, North America and Europe.
